@email@example.com Hi there. I don't know you, I think I followed you hoping to get some inroads on the boardgames server. But this struck a chord with me. My own path out of the church involved the emerging church movement and books by Brian McLaren, particularly A Generous Orthodoxy. I also spent some meaningful time with Unitarian Universalists. I have since left Christianity, UU and even humanism behind but I wonder if those might be helpful to you. Good luck!

@therisingtithes Rain, outer space, dirt and tea are all political insofar as they are concepts that humans use to define and interact with the physical world and organize themselves. Since humans are political, that attribute is projected onto these concepts. The physical realities underlying the concepts aren't innately political - humans make them so by their interaction. That, in no way, minimizes the fact that these objects/systems can and should be analyzed through a political lens.
Picked up the city making game Ex Novo last week and finally got to play it last night. Made a river outpost that wrangles 6-legged insectoids from the nearby plain and uses them to haul barges back upriver. It ended up with a political struggle between the river workers and the wealthy founding family (because I'm me, so of course it did). Pretty fun!
the mythical "good cop" could do infinitely more good by quitting, joining a protest, and volunteering to keep civilians safe than they can by getting paid to stand silently while their coworkers assault people
@cosine hm, apparently editing toots isn't a thing. Did I mention I'm new? I meant "who's *posting* what".
@cosine honestly, I'm new to Mastodon and just checking out various servers to see who's playing what. You were at the top of the public index on ACP and I ended up reading thru your posts for a while. Followed because it seems like you're posting stuff I'd like to see and my feed is lonely. I'll unfollow if you want.
Parent, anarchist, hacker. Pretty new to the fediverse, still figuring out how all this works.
